The second day of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign at Cluny Women’s College featured a screening of the thought-provoking documentary “I Am 20.”
Dr. Kaushik Roy, Department of English, introduced the film, which was shot in 1967 and captures the perspectives of young men and women born in 1947—the year of India’s Independence—as they turned 20 alongside their nation. Through candid interviews, the documentary explores their views on poverty, corruption, and the future of India.
The screening was followed by an engaging interaction with students on the deeper meaning of freedom, independence, patriotism, and democracy. Principal Dr. Sr. Pushpa Michael shared her reflections on what freedom and independence mean in today’s world, bringing the day’s thoughtful discussion to a meaningful close.
